Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Romanian and Austrian legal terminology and bases of Romanian and Austrian legal system. Contrastive analysis of specialized texts from penal, civil, commercial and administrative law. Translation of official documents.
Assessment and permitted materials
Active participation in class, final test, portfolio of translations.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Acquiring competence in the translation of legal texts. Improving specialized vocabulary and knowledge. Improving research and transcultural communication skills.
Examination topics
Translation of specialized texts, discussion, analysis, group activities, homework.
Reading list
Relevant reference works on Austrian and Romanian law, specialized dictionaries. Primary literature is to be announced in class.
