Aims, contents and method of the course

Goals
In this course, students improve their communicative competence in Portuguese through task-based text production (both oral and written), using authentic discourses in multimodal settings.

Content
- Development of general communication competence on three levels: linguistic, sociolinguistic, and pragmatic;
- Increased familiarity with a wide range of text genres and types in multimodal settings;
- Awareness of the influence of culture on the conventions of specific text types;
- Development of the ability to evaluate texts and provide feedback;
- Expansion of vocabulary and deepening of grammatical topics.

Method
Task-based text production (both oral and written) according to specific criteria (purpose, media, text function, target audience, register, etc.); individual presentations followed by group discussions and reflections.

Assessment and permitted materials

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Assessment
Evaluation of the exercises conducted throughout the course.
Minimum passing requirement: 60% performance.
Attendance: A maximum of 3 absences allowed.
