Aims, contents and method of the course

Introduction to narrative theory and stylistics against the background of (literary) translation. Students will learn to analyze literary texts from narratological and stylistic perspectives and learn how this is relevant for the translation of literary texts. Lecture with discussions.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written take-home exam (narratological and stylistic analysis), aids allowed.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Assessment of content and form based on five-level grading scale.

Examination topics

Power-point slides, lectures and discussions, compulsory reading.
