Aims, contents and method of the course

Overview of US American government and political system. Subjects to be addressed: Americanism; federalism; US constitution; presidency; electoral college; political parties; judiciary system; congress; domestic and foreign policy.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Good understanding of the specificities of the American political system and government structure and how both differ from the European counterparts.

Examination topics

Vorlesung mit Schlussdiskussion.
