Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Detailed introduction to US government and political system (with references to recent domestic and foreign developments.) Subjects to be addressed: Americanism; federalism; US constitution; presidency; electoral college; political parties; judiciary system; Congress; domestic and foreign policy.
Assessment and permitted materials
Final exam at the end of the semester.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
A solid understanding of the specificities of the American political system and government structure (and how it differs from its European counterparts!)
Examination topics
Lecture with discussion.
