Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Simultaneous interpretation of easy and slightly more difficult texts. Development of simultaneous interpreting technique.
Students are also required to prepare the topic and terminology for the week/semester, as well as possible practice videos. Students’ interpreting performance and interpreting strategies will be discussed in class.

Assessment and permitted materials

Advanced level of German and English

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Active class participation (preparation etc.) 50%
Interpretation performance in class 50%
A passing grade (“genügend”) is required for both criteria for an overall passing grade for the class
Max. 2 absences
Grading scale: ≥90% = 1, ≥80% = 2, ≥70% = 3, ≥60% = 4
