Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Reading, analysis and production of different types of texts (written and oral);
Theories and strategies of reading;
Text production;
Revision of texts produced by colleagues, learning to give feedback.

Objectives:
Improvement of the general competence of oral and written communication in different communication situations;
Expansion of the ability to express oneself in different communication situations by producing different types of texts (written and oral);
Improvement of the ability to read and interpret different types of texts in Portuguese language;
Expansion and development of argumentation strategies;
Consolidation of the knowledge of different registers and forms of expression;
Expansion of the vocabulary;
Awareness of the grammatical differences between European and Brazilian Portuguese.

Assessment and permitted materials

Production of different types of texts (written and oral) throughout the semester;
Regular and active participation in class and on Moodle.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Reading tasks and reviews; production of different texts (written and oral).

Examination topics

The contents worked on during the semester.
There will be no final exam.
The materials (texts and exercises) will be made available on Moodle.
