This is a course with continuous assessment of students' performance, so there is no final exam.
Attendance and active participation during the semester.
Allowed tools: consecutive block, own glossaries. The use of AI applications (e.g. in the preparation of presentations) must be explicitly declared.

Excellent command of both languages is required.

Students will strengthen their skills in consecutive interpreting from English into German and vice versa, improve their note-taking technique and consolidate their ability to work under time pressure and to speak in public.CONTENTS:
- Analysing source texts (content and rhetoric)
- Analysis of settings (monologue and dialogue conference scenarios, press conferences, speeches, discussions, etc.)
- Improving note-taking techniques (developing your own symbols, analysing the strengths and weaknesses of your own note-taking technique, developing solutions individually and in groups).
- Giving and accepting feedback and using it in a constructive manner
- Developing specialised terminology, improving vocabulary in both working languagesMETHOD:
- Interpreting in authentic and realistic settings (presentations, simulated panel discussions in class)
- Developing and strengthening interpreting strategies through practice and follow-up work
- Dealing with numbers and proper names in consecutive interpreting - terminology research (specialist topics)
- Presentation technique (focus on linguistic expression, fluency, body language)
- Self-evaluation and peer evaluation based on quality criteria (see assessment grid for the module examination)
