Aims, contents and method of the course

GOALS:
- You can apply knowledge of specialized communication, terminology science, and information and interface design (Module 9) in the field of information preparation and design.
- You are familiar with the characteristics of specialized languages and technical communication.
- You can comprehend, analyze, and create texts with distinctive technical and domain-specific language features.
- You can analyze and describe text conventions of selected specialized text types.
- You can carry out terminology work and create glossaries and terminologies.

CONTENT:
- Text creation and analysis with a special focus on the language of tourism.
- Basic knowledge of the use of corpora and tools for terminology management.
- Creation of glossaries and/or terminology databases using specific technical tools.

METHODS:
- Literature review.
- Exercises for analyzing and identifying conventions of specialized texts.
- Intralingual translation based on specific assignments.
- Discussion and text evaluation.
- (Peer) feedback.

Assessment and permitted materials

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Assessment:
Evaluation of the exercises conducted throughout the course.
Minimum passing requirement: 60% performance.
Attendance: A maximum of 3 absences allowed.

Examination topics

There will be no final examination.
