Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Objective: appropriate handling of language and style and broadening active vocabulary in oral presentations.
To this end, basic rhetorical knowledge, stylistic devices and presentation techniques for various communication situations are discussed to improve oral competences and overcome individual weaknesses.
Presentation of self-written speeches/statements based on given assignments.

Assessment and permitted materials

Attendance and participation in class, four presentations (individual/group)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Adequate level of English to present individual and group speeches and statements; grading will focus on the capacity to speak freely in front of an audience (without PowerPoint or reading out prepared texts) within the allottet time.

Examination topics

Presentation of self-written speeches (individual, with a partner and in a group) according to given assignments
