Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Topics in the field of transcultural communication and translation studies will be explored and critically analyzed from a combined theoretical and practical perspective, based on the available literature and following the guidelines on good research practice.

Assessment and permitted materials


Class presentation; research paper; participation.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Learn how to apply theoretical approaches developed within transcultural communication and translation studies to practical problems and issues in the field and write a research paper based on the relevant literature.

Examination topics

Students are expected to develop their own specific research questions based on a number of broad topics of interest. They can brainstorm and start out in small teams, but then have to carry on independently. Students are required to give class presentations and then help guide class discussion. At the end of the semester research papers have to be handed in.
