Aims, contents and method of the course

Contents:
Semester theme: Quality in transcultural communication with a focus on "translation quality, approaches and reflections"

Methods:
group discussions, peer to peer feedback, oral presentation

Objectives:
The students are supposed to work on their various self-chosen topics against the backdrop of a jointly developed basis.
The students are supposed to strengthen their scientific capabilities and put them to the test.
The seminar participants are supposed to develop a critical and reflected treatment of the entire seminar theme as well as their specific and self-chosen topics.

Assessment and permitted materials

oral presentation
written seminar thesis
active collaboration

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

written seminar thesis (60%), oral presentation (40%); both need to be at least positive per se; a very active collaboration can heighten the final mark by one entire grade. The scheme for this can be found on Moodle and will be discussed during the introductory unit of the seminar.
