Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

In this course, selected texts from technology and science are translated in a team. Together in tandem with other participants and in exchange with the entire team, we go through rough translation, proofreading, editing - all stages up to approval for printing.
The students not only gain insights into the professional work of a translator of technical and scientific texts, learn research possibilities, strategies of translation work for scientific texts, but also learn how to deal with the original text author and the publisher.

Assessment and permitted materials

Translations that have been prepared are checked and discussed together. Glossaries, research.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

80% translation control. 20% Glossaries, research, oral participation.

Examination topics

Development of translations, glossaries and research.
