Aims, contents and method of the course

COURSE AIMS:
After completing the course, students should be able to
- use the interpreting strategies developed in class appropriately for the situation.
- interpret a longer and complex (length at least 5-6 minutes) on announced and self-researched topics, taking into account the specialised terminology
- evaluate their own and others' interpreting performance according to the grading criteria for the
the module examination.
- Use feedback constructively to improve their own interpreting performance.

CONTENTS:
This exercise builds on KONS I and KONS II and includes the following content:
- Consolidation of interpreting skills and preparation for the module exam
- Analysing, developing and using conference terminology (in all working languages)
- Simulation of module examinations
- topic-related and terminology research (complex topics)
- perfecting presentation techniques (linguistic expression, intonation, fluency, body language)

- Self- and peer-evaluation according to the requirements of the module examination

METHOD:
- Interpreting and analysing module examination speeches with appropriate preparation (research and reflection on preparatory work)
- Simulation of module examination situations
- Peer and self-assessment

Assessment and permitted materials

This is a course with continuous assessment of students' performance, so there is no final exam.
Attendance and active participation during the semester.
Allowed tools: consecutive block, own glossaries. The use of AI applications (e.g. in the preparation of presentations) must be explicitly declared.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Excellent command of both languages is required.
Ongoing participation (attendance, participation in class and homework).
Grading scale: ≥90 % = 1, ≥80 % = 2, ≥70 % = 3, ≥60 % = 4.
