Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
The course is exam-based. All oral and written work in class, homework and platform work are included in the assessment. Peer-to-peer analyses in class and then feedback from the course instructor.

The weekly performance in class and the conscientious completion of the tasks on the learning platform (post-processing of the texts)

The grade is made up as follows:
Weekly interpreting performance in the exercise (at least 6): 60%
Preparation and active participation in the units, creation of glossaries and word lists: 30%
To achieve a positive grade for the semester, more than half of the assessments must be passed.

Course with continuous assessment, therefore no final test. Active participation in class.

At the end of the course, a live situation will be simulated. Each student will interpret a text, an excerpt of a speech of about 6 minutes. For technical texts, the topic will be announced in advance.

interpreting demanding and technical texts, interpreting text passages of up to 6 minutes. The duration of the interpretation will be continuously increased during the semester. The focus is on capturing the core messages of the speakers.
Improving the skill of consecutive interpreting in both directions ( Russian and German). Note-taking techniques will be improved
together with memory training. Linguistic skills; presentation and note-taking techniques will be developed individually so that by the end of the course the interpreters are able to provide professional interpreting services.
Consolidation in individual subject areas (politics, economics, science, medicine, etc.) with the corresponding terminology.
Ongoing improvement of vocabulary by repeating the technical terms from the texts of the last unit at the beginning of the new unit.
