Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The main topic of this class will be Diversity, Minorities, and Migration, on the one hand, in Austria, and also in other German-speaking countries.

Assessment and permitted materials

Attendance, active participation, reading list, written and oral assignments, presentation, portfolios.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Gaining a (deeper) insight into cultural knowledge about Austria and other German-speaking countries and continuing to work on one's own language competence in German.

Examination topics

On the basis of various forms of media we will question what is commonly understood by „culture“ and compare it with the term diversity. Students will prepare and present a chosen topic in pairs or small groups.
Input, student presentations, discussions, joint reading.
