Aims, contents and method of the course

The class aims at encouraging students to develop their own theoretical positions and to articulate these in a coherent and convincing manner.
Theories will be discussed which have potential bearing on students' individual research interests and examined in terms of relevance and suitability.
There will be plenty of opportunity for students to practice their written and oral communication skills and how to articulate persuasive theoretical arguments.
Students may write and present their ideas in German or English.

Participation in discussions; written assignments; oral presentation; end-of-term written assignment

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Pass grade for the class 'Forschungsmethodik'
