Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

After an introduction to different models of translation criticism and some methodological foundations (systematic approach to translatiobn problems, translation procedures), the participants will present papers on the following thematic areas: (1) pragmatic texts, (2) children's literature, (3) specialized and popularizing texts, (4) Literary prose, (5) Poetic texts. The presentations must be elaborated and handed in as written seminar papers.

Assessment and permitted materials

Oral presentation and written seminar paper (20 pages)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Application of models of translation criticism, in preparation of later Master's theses.

Examination topics

Independent application of existing scientific models
