Assessment and permitted materials
Performance will be measured based on three performances:
1) written exercises during the lectures and active participation,
2) oral presentation of the main concept of your master's thesis,
3) submission of the written research proposal (template and information see Moodle; to be submitted one month after the presentation).Please actively participate in the discussion as well as feedback on presentations.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Oral presentation and written research proposal of sufficient quality for a positive assessment; compliance with all requirements of the colloquium in terms of content as well as attendance.Attendance is mandatory and only two lectures may be missed.One criterion for a positive evaluation is compliance with the guidelines for scientific writing of Pöchhacker, Rogl and Risku 2021: see https://transvienna.univie.ac.at/fileadmin/user_upload/z_translationswiss/Studium/Wissenschaftliches_Arbeiten/Richtlinien_2021.pdf

From the moment you submit the signed supervisor agreement it is expected that you work continuously on your master's thesis and complete it within 6 months. Exceptions to this deadline have to be discussed personally with your potential supervisor.Should there be no obvious effort to work on the master's thesis within the first 9 months, we reserve the right to recline the before granted agreement to supervise your master's thesis (reminder after 6 months, second reminder after 3 months).
