Aims, contents and method of the course

AIMS:
To improve interpreting skills (English-German and vice versa), in particular:
- memory performance
- individual note-taking techniques
- proper handling of job assigments, with and without preparation
- self-assessment skills and resilience in stressful situations

CONTENT
- consecutive interpreting
- memory exercises
- note-taking techniques
- various topics

METHODS
- working with texts (videos and speeches), with or without preparation
- consecutive interpreting, and discussing the performance with peers and with the teacher

Assessment and permitted materials

Regular attendance and active participation throughout the term

Consecutive interpreting according to instructions

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

It is expected that students are able to apply strategies and theoretical input in various working situations
