Aims, contents and method of the course
Reading and processing of texts on various current and scientific topics; identifying and assessing information in its cultural context; text production for various purposes and target audiences (press releases, adverts, formal texts, articles for newspapers and special purpose magazines, writing for children a.o.).
Assessment and permitted materials
Attendance and participation in class; one mid-term test, two writing assignments.

Improving reading competence and text comprehension; text production for various purposes and target audiences.
Examination topics
Reading and discussion of texts in class; paraphrasing, summarising and re-writing texts according to assignments individually or in groups.
