Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This class will give students the opportunity to practice various forms of public speaking with a variety of speech structures and conventions. The speech forms to be covered will be “impromptu”, “informative structured” and “persuasive debate”.
NEW CRITERIA DUE TO CORONA CRISIS: You will give three speeches: Impromptu, informative and persuasive during online class sessions. Invitations to be sent out.

Assessment and permitted materials

The semester grade will be based on students‘ performance in class for each of the three kinds of speeches.
NEW CRITERIA DUE TO CORONA CRISIS: Three speeches will be given for assessment. In-class participation will be determined on the basis of feedback to the speeches.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Students will be graded on: 1. English grammar, usage, pronunciation; 2. adherence to the structural requirements of the given speech convention.
