Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Comparative study of English and German texts from various fields and aspects of transcultural text production. The focus will be on task analysis, text analysis, research, and translatorial operations such as the production of summaries, commmentaries, etc. and translations.
Assessment and permitted materials
Work done in class, homework assignments, mid-term exam, final exam, participation in discussions.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Acquisition of basic translatorial skills so as to be able to produce publishable texts of various text types; improvement of research skills; preparation for PIK exam.
Examination topics
Ad hoc text production in class, homework assignments, discussion of texts in class, mid-term exam, final exam.
