Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
In this class we will have a first go at translating. For this purpose, knowledge and skills acquired in earlier parts of the syllabus will be brought to bear on work *between* English and German. We shall analyse tasks and various aspects of texts, compare variations in conventions between languages and investigate how presupposition differences influence the way in which information is imparted to different target audiences and in different settings.
