Aims, contents and method of the course

Simultaneous interpreting of French speeches (audio, video, speaker) into German.

Assessment and permitted materials

Continuous assessment throughout the semester
Participation in a mock conference
Regular attendance, active participation in classroom activities

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Improving students' interpreting techniques and strategies.

Examination topics

Simultaneous interpreting of French speeches (audio, video) into German, with or without texts. Sometimes texts can be prepared in advance. Sight interpreting. Individual and group feedback will be given. Students are encouraged to evaluate their own interpretation. Organisation of a mini mock conference (if possible, students will practice relay interpreting).
