The course will be held fully in person if possible. Should the situation change in the course of the semester, we may have to switch to full online teaching. There will be no hybrid teaching.
If you do not attend the first lesson (without giving a good reason in advance), you will be de-registered from the course and your place will be given to the next person on the waiting list.If you wish to de-register from this course, please do so by 31 October at the latest. After this time, it will not be possible for you to leave the course.
Continuous assessment of course work. If you miss more than two classes (with good reason), you will receive a semester grade of 5.

Students are able to apply their knowledge in the areas of technical communication, terminology studies and information and interface design (module 7) to authentic tasks in their working languages. Students know the characteristics of technical language(s) and communication in their working languages and are able to understand, analyse and write technical texts in their working languages.Content:
Reading and research competence, understanding and analysing conventions of technical communication, writing technical texts, revision, intralingual translation of technical texts, information design: verbalising information from graphics, designing graphical elements as part of technical texts, terminology work.METHODS
Text and assignment analysis, text production, intralingual translation, terminology work (research, glossaries), describing graphical representations of statistical data. Authentic technical texts are used as examples and for assignments.
Students will be expected to perform work at home alone and in groups and prepare for classes.Work in class will be mainly intralingual (English) and partly interlingual (English - German).
