For the individual and group assignments as well as in-class tasks, any resources with the exception of machine translation, text generation software and any other AI/LLM applications are permitted. The assignments must be completed without any outside help.- Test 15 May: Analysis or draft of a text type discussed in the first half of the semester. Physical documents and notes regarding the text types are permitted.
- Final presentation 19 June: Presentation of the 5-week group project.If you hand in any work (assignments, tests) completed with outside help or forbidden tools, you will be considered to have cheated and receive an X in the transcript.

1) For group assignments, individual contributions of group members will be assessed in addition to the overall outcome.
2) For late assignments, one grade will be subtracted per started week.- Written test: 20%
- Group assignment (5-week project): 50%
- Other assignments & active participation: 30%- 5-week project: 20 points (total)
- Mid-term test: 30 points
- Final test: 30 pointsA minimum of 60 points is required to pass this class.1 (sehr gut) 100-90 points
2 (gut) 89-81 points
3 (befriedigend) 80-71 points
4 (genügend) 70-60 points

Examination topics
Topics discussed and competences acquired in class. The focus is on applying the acquired knowledge on text types, information design and conveying information for different target groups.

Students are able to apply their knowledge in the areas of technical communication, terminology studies and information and interface design (module 7) to authentic tasks in their working languages. Students know the characteristics of technical language(s) and communication in their working languages and are able to understand, analyse and write technical texts in their working languages.Content:
Reading and research competence, understanding and analysing conventions of technical communication, writing technical texts, revision, intralingual translation of technical texts, information design: verbalising information from graphics, designing graphical elements as part of technical texts, terminology work.METHODS
Text and assignment analysis, text production, intralingual translation, terminology work (research, glossaries), describing graphical representations of statistical data. Authentic technical texts are used as examples and for assignments.
Students will be expected to perform work at home alone and in groups and prepare for classes.The language of instruction is predominantly English.
