Aims, contents and method of the course
This course aims to hone students' basic translation skills (assignment and source text analysis, production of English-to-German and German-to-English translations, reflecting on decisions made during the translation process).
Assessment and permitted materials
Mid-term test (40%), end-of-term test (40%), participation in class and online activities (20%). Students are allowed to use a dictionary (no electronic devices) during the tests.
UPDATE: Both tests will be conducted digitally on the days announced via Moodle. Students will download the exam sheet and have two hours to complete it and upload it to the respective folder.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Attendance is mandatory (two absences will be allowed).
An advanced level of both English and German is required.
Passing grade: 60%
Grading scale: ≥90% = 1, ≥80% = 2, ≥70% = 3, ≥60% = 4
