Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The emphasis of this lecture is on practical applying and widening of competences in the field of interpreting. Students will train the different techniques of interpreting (consecutive interpreting, simultaneous interpreting and pre-exercise shadowing, sight interpreting) as interpreting situations are simulated and difficulty level is increased as the lecture proceeds. Part of the lecture is also memory training (summarization/reproduction of short speeches given be the students), exercises for paraphrasing, clozing in both languages, exercises for note-taking and reviewing the strategies of coping with difficulties in interpreting.
