Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Comparative study of English and German texts from various fields and aspects of text production in the transcultural field: task analysis, text analysis, research, strategies of text production such as summaries, commentaries etc.

Assessment and permitted materials

Work done in class, home assignments, mitderm, final exam, particiaption.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Acquire basic translatorial skills so as to be able to produce English and German texts that are based on texts in the other language and take into account specific definitions of tasks and specific target audiences. Preparation for PIK exam.

Examination topics

Ad-hoc text production in class in teams of 2 or 3 students, home assignments, class discussion.
