Aims, contents and method of the course

Rahmenthema: Ideas, Ideals, Idols and Idolatry - Revolution and Change throughout the Ages

Im Rahmen dieses Semesterthemas sollen die Studierenden mittels Referaten ausgewählte Themen der britischen Geschichte präsentieren, diese in Kontext zu anderen nationalen und internationalen Ereignissen setzen und einen Aktualitätsbezug herstellen, wobei anhand dieser Referate auch Präsentationstechniken und Aspekt wie richtige Vortragsgeschwindigkeit uns Lautstärke, Sprachmodulation, reflektierte Informationsselektion, leicht verständliche Aufbereitung etc. geübt werden.
Nach jedem Referat wird ein zuvor von allen Studierenden vorbereiteter, zum Thema passender (zeitgenössischer) Text diskutiert.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Diese Lehrveranstaltung soll ein Bewußtsein für die Untrennbarkeit von Kultur- und Sprachmittlung schaffen und das kulturspezifische Wissen der Studierenden erweitern, sowie auf kulturspezifische Unterschiede in der Kommunikation aufmerksam machen.
