Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course is based on the contents of Basic Interpreting Competence, important theoretical considerations and quality criteria will be reiterated. Various preliminary exercises will help promote basic skills.
We will focus on interpreting from E into G.
Various strategies will be suggested and exercised.
As a large number of students is expected, the course will be held in HS1 (audio recording devices).

Assessment and permitted materials

Presence in class is required, active participation and the handing in of assignments are vital for positive final results. All performances are marked and part of continuous assessment.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Students are to understand and master the basics of consecutive interpreting.

Examination topics

Preliminary exercises as required. Students will be asked to produce texts according to certain criteria (role, context, setting, target audience). Note-taking exercises are an important part of course work. Students will learn practicing on their own.
Students will be asked to prepare material for class work.
Feedback will be given by the teacher and by your collegues.
