If you do not attend the first lesson (without giving a good reason in advance), you will be deregistered from the course and your place will be given to the next person on the waiting list.
If you wish to deregister from this course, please do so by 31 October 2017 at the latest. After this time, it will not be possible for you to leave the course.

If you miss more than one class (with good reason) during the semester, you will receive a semester grade of 5.

Aims, contents and method of the course

Aims: Acquiring a functional note-taking technique suitable as a basis for consecutive interpreting classes in the MA.

Contents and methods: Principles and elements of language-independent note taking, discussion of different approaches to note-taking technique, note-taking/consecutive interpreting exercises.

RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended you take the course Basic Competence Translation B Interpreting before taking this course.

Assessment and permitted materials

Participation in class (28% of semester grade), homework (handed in on time, 48%), one intralingual interpretation with notes in the final class (24%).
