Aims, contents and method of the course

This class discusses basic concepts of Translation Theory and Transcultural Communication to give students an overview of the course content of the B.A. programme as well as possible job opportunities.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Aims: to illustrate the connection between language, communication, culture and translation from a theoretical and practical perspective and enable students to evaluate their own suitability for pursuing this course of study.

Examination topics

Introduction to various theoretical approaches with practical examples. Discussion and critical evaluation of the relevance of translation and communication theories to everyday life and job profiles.
