Aims, contents and method of the course
- Ice breaker games- Phenomenological approaches to games- Different forms and requirements of playing together.- Theory of games- Theory and practice of cooperative and competitive games- Theory and practice of games from different cultures- Theory and practice of interaction and communication games- Theory and practice of adventure games
Assessment and permitted materials
- Active participation- Presentation on the chosen topic- Continuous assessment of coursework. Submission of the seminar paper in time.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The course aims to give students a deeper insight into pedagogical perspectives on games.The students shall develop the following knowledge and skills:- Knowledge about basic characteristics of games- Knowledge about different forms of games- Knowledge about pedagogical uses of games in school- Ability to stage different forms of games in practice
Examination topics
- Group discussion and analysis of relevant literature concerning various topics- Presentation of the topics in both theory and practice
