Aims, contents and method of the course

This course will discuss approaches, methods, conceptions and forms of disabilities and integrative/inclusive sports for people with disabilities.
The following topics will be discussed in the course:
definition and understanding of the term integration/inclusion;
criteria of integrative/inclusive physical education;
didactical approach and methods for the introduction of movement and sport in heterogeneous groups;
legal requirements and academic conditions for inclusive physical education;
examples for differentiated and problem centred teaching methods

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The purpose of the course is to animate the students to reflect the topic of disability and integration. The aim is to get acquainted with the main characteristics of pupils with disabilities.
Final outcomes should be:
- the students should be aware of the theoretical aspects and the educational/ didactical approach for teaching children with special needs.
- the students should know about individualized teaching approaches in heterogeneous groups and make appropriate chioces of content and method
- the students should know about the different kind of restrictions, diabilities and special needs of children/individuals
