Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

- Fundamentals of empirical social research and questionnaire design
- Getting to know quantitative survey and evaluation methods
- Basics of data analysis: descriptive statistics and inferential statistics
- Knowledge of problem-adequate selection of statistical methods
- Introduction to the statistics software SPSS

Methods:
- Lectures
- Practical exercises in SPSS
- home exercises + videos with solutions

Assessment and permitted materials

The overall grade (100%) consists of three partial performances:
- Active participation (20%)
- Homework (40%)
- Final test in SPSS (40%)

Students must reach a positive grade in each partial performance, in order to pass the course (50% pass mark).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

- 75 % presence + active course participation
- timely and complete submission of homework
- Positive completion of the final exam
