Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Within this seminar we will discuss and critically reflect physiological adaptations using specific examples from sports and exercise.
Topics: (Molecular) adaptations to endurance and strength training; Immunological changes; genetic determinants of athletic performance
Methods: Combined lecture and seminar

Assessment and permitted materials

active participation, literature search, presentation, final essay

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

In total it is possible to reach 100 points, which are split to the following partial contributions:

-) Presentation (20 points)
-) participation in discussion (3x3 format) (21 points)
-) final essay (59 points)

In total more than 50 points are necessary to reach a positive grade, but each of the contributions have to be graded with at least 50% of the points.

Grades:
from 87 % --> 1
from 75 % --> 2
from 63 % --> 3
from 50 % --> 4
smaller than 49,99 % --> 5
