Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The Journal Club serves as a platform to discuss one's own scientific projects as well as research articles. The main objectives are to promote critical thinking, deepen the understanding of current research, and enhance scientific communication skills. Contents include scientific papers and articles from various fields. Methodologically, these are presented through a presentation and then discussed collectively. The seminar is open to all PhD students of the Vienna Doctoral School of Pharmaceutical, Nutritional, and Sport Sciences, as well as advanced Master's students who are working on their (empirical) Master's thesis in the fields of Exercise Science or Sports Biology.

Assessment and permitted materials

The entire coursework must be completed by students by the following April 30 at the latest for bachelor's/bachelor's theses in the winter semester and by the following September 30 at the latest for bachelor's/bachelor's theses in the summer semester. Students who have not deregistered from the course in question are to be assessed. In the event of a negative assessment, a board examination is not permitted and the course must be repeated.
