Aims, contents and method of the course

AIMS
The students have a general overview of the theoretical basics of project management:
Basics of project management: project term, types of projects;
Getting to know tools of project management, basic methods of project planning and project organisation
Project phases and their characteristics
Functions, structures, processes,..

The students have dealt with various projects of the sports system.

TOPICS
Organisation of projects:
Project term, types of projects, project orientation, project management-approach
Methods of project delimitation and project context analysis
Project phases
Project team (roles, team selection, requirements of the project manager), criteria of a successful process, project culture
Basic forms of project organisation
Quality management in projects

Methods concerned with planning and controlling projects:
Performance planning by means of a work breakdown structure
Scheduling (bar charts, milestone schedules, network diagram)
Methods of resource and cost planning
Project controlling
Types of project documentation
IT-usage for projects (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project)

Assessment and permitted materials

Written exam in the last lecture.

You are expressly informed that if you are found to have cheated (e.g. copying, plagiarism, ghostwriting, etc.), the entire PI-LV will be considered cheated: copying, plagiarism, use of unauthorised aids, falsification, ghostwriting, etc.) the entire PI-LV will be assessed as cheated and will count as an Antritt. (Entry in U:SPACE: X = not assessed)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The students are able to work on a simple case study according to the contents discussed in the course in a project management manner. A total of 100 points are achievable.

In the case of negatively assessed examinations, written feedback will be provided upon request.

Examination topics

The students are able to define the main tasks of a project and its objectives, to carry out a social context analysis and derive appropriate measures, to create a work breakdown structure for a simple case study and to specify work packages. They can use simple scheduling tools and define milestones. They can use examples to explain the difference between a project and a routine task.
