Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Students should engage with simple sports scientific questions in the
fields of school sports to learn the application spectrum of
quantitative research. The necessary empirical knowledge and abilities
will be imparted.

Assessment and permitted materials

regular presence, active co-operation
hand in of single working steps (=assignments”) during the semester
test at end of semester (data evaluation on PC)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Get to know and implementing the development of empirical research in
the field of school sports (i.e. evaluation of teaching, performance
tests): finding of themes, literature research, specification of
theme, formulating of hypothesis, finding or developing of
appropriate survey-tools, adopting/refreshing the empirical knowledge
necessary for the data analyses (average, quantile, test of
significance), use of statistics program SPSS, finding of adequate
presentation forms for presenting the results (graphs, images,
interpretations).

Examination topics

lecture, discussion and work in small groups
work with PC (analysis of data with SPSS statistics program)
