Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course will discuss approaches, methods, conceptions and forms of disabilities and integrative sports for handicapped people.
The following topics will be discussed in the course:
definition and understanding of the term integration/inclusion;
criteria of integrative sports;
didactical approach and methods for the introduction of movement and sport in heterogeneous groups;
legal requirements and academic conditions for integrative school sports;
examples for differentiated and problem centred teaching methods

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The purpose of the course is to animate the students to reflect the topic of disability and integration. The aim is to be acquainted with the main characteristics of handicapped pupils. In the end of the course the students should be aware of the theoretical aspects and the educational/ didactical approach for teaching children with special needs.
