Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
1. Compulsory attendance (max. absenteeism 3 units)
2. Active contributions to the seminar
3. Turn-in of e-learning assignments in due time
4. Presentation of own assignment/ paper (short talk) & preparation of hand out
5. Assignment due date: 28/06/2011.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
This seminar will provide a guideline to scientific work and will help you to practically acquire the skills necessary to work independently on your scientific paper or assignment. In addition, you will learn how to present your work both orally and in writing. This course prepares you for some mile stones of university life, such as assignments, presentations or your bachelor’s thesis.
Examination topics
* Theoretical inputs and group work combined with e-learning assignments (Fronter)
* Preparation and presentation (short talk) of an own assignment/scientific paper on social or health aspects of sport sciences
* Discussion of your own work with your fellow students
* Excursion to main library (if desired by the participants) – Introduction to literature data base inquiries

*How do I prepare for and deliver a short presentation?
