Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This course addresses group dynamics and processes. The topics include team building, team identity, social loafing, team collapse, communication, team roles, and prosocial behavior.
Assessment and permitted materials
A) Elaboration of a selected topic and an empirical analysis of the related social phenomenon.
A1) Presentation of that topic (incl. analysis) in the course (40%).
A2) Seminar thesis - written essay of A (30%)
B) Tasks for seminar preparation (20%).
C) Participation (10%).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
It is recommended that you completed or take "Grundlagen des wissenschaftlichen Arbeitens" and "Quantitative Forschungsmethoden" in the same semester.Students gain the knowledge about group processes and team dynamics, know the underlying mechanisms and possible interventions, and understand the link between theory and practice.
Examination topics
Literature will be provided by the course leader. Students are expected to study the texts given.
