Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

In this doctoral seminar, we will discuss authenticity, which is a relevant concept in many practical fields as family counseling and spiritual counseling, as ethical concept. We will ask ourselves how authenticity relates to identity, and which points of reference are needed to make the concept work. We will also raise the question of how a theological framework may modify the concept.
After an introduction, we will select and present texts and then read and discuss them togehter with Ph.D. students and postdoc researchers from the University of Würzburg.

Assessment and permitted materials

Selection and presentation of a relavant text, written essay.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Knowledge of central approaches to theories of authenticity and identity.

Examination topics

Text reading and interpretation, discussion.
