Aims, contents and method of the course

The well known US American theologian and religous sister Margaret Farley has presented a new and widely recognised approach to sexual ethics from a Christian (not primarily catholic) perspective. Beyond natural law she develops her ideas on the basis of a consistent personal anthropology (human person as embodied mind and freedom) and aims for a just and lifegiving way of living one's sexuality.
In this seminar we will read and discuss Farleys ideas.

Assessment and permitted materials

Preparation of a certain part of Farley's book, presentation and guiding the discussion.
Research paper on that topic, including other literature for a critical revision of Farleys ideas.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Active participation in the seminar discussin (20%)
Preparation and presentation (30%)
Research paper ov 12-15 pages (approx. 25.000 characters) (50%)
