Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Participation requirement for students at the Faculty of Business and Economics: the faculty-public presentation of the dissertation project must already have taken place.

Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, changes to courses may be necessary at short notice. You will be informed of such changes in good time.

A seminar paper in the area of private law/corporate law must be written as part of the seminar. This must be submitted to Markus Edelsbrunner (markus.edelsbrunner@univie.ac.at) by 01.06.2022, 23:59 at the latest.

The topic must be announced by 11.03.2022, 23:59 at the latest. The topic should be a subfield of the dissertation project.

The presentation of the seminar paper shall take place in presence and shall contain the essential theses of the work. The presentation should last approx. 20 minutes.
The use of a Power Point presentation and the provision of handouts are obligatory.
This is followed by a discussion of the content of the respective topic.

Assessment and permitted materials

The assessment is based on the
- written seminar paper;
- Presentation of the seminar paper;
- Participation in the discussion.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Continuous attendance at all dates is compulsory!
Participation requirement for students at the Faculty of Business and Economics: the faculty-public presentation of the dissertation project must already have taken place.

The written seminar paper will be assessed according to the usual criteria (at least 50,000 characters ~ 25 pages, compliance with good scientific practice). The thesis has to deal with current and relevant issues in the fields of corporate and private law.
Within the framework of the presentation (approx. 15 minutes), the main theses of the seminar paper are presented.

Examination topics

The examination material is the presented topics from private law/corporate law.
