Continuous assessment of course work

The seminar is devoted to presenting and discussing the participants own recent research. Research that is already substantial but possibly not yet summarized in a working paper may be presented. Two sessions will be reserved for presentations of preliminary research proposals of new PhD-candidates.

Aims, contents and method of the course

The seminar is devoted to presenting and discussing the participants’ own recent research. Research that is already substantial but possibly not yet summarized in a working paper may be presented. Two sessions will be reserved for presentations of preliminary research proposals of new PhD-candidates. PhD candidates already admitted to the program are expected to present the current status of their research. It should help PhD students to clarify open issues in their research, obtain feedback from their peers and at the same time to gain experience in the critical discussion of other’s scientific work

Assessment and permitted materials

Presentation and active participation in the discussion.

The use of AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT) for the production of texts is only permited if they are expressly requested by the course leader (e.g. for individual work tasks).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Successful presentation and 2/3 attendance.

Examination topics

There will be no separate exam. Presentations will be evaluated according both to content and didactic quality.

Reading list

If working papers are available for the presentations, they will be provided on Moodle.
