Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This is joint seminar of the economics department and the Vienna Graduate School (VGSE) in Oskar-Morgenstern Doctoroal School (OMDS)
Aims: Students are confronted with frontier research in economics.
Contents: All areas of economics.
Methods: External speakers present their recent research articles. The audience discusses with the speaker. Students are required to attend the presentations. Students are encouraged to meet with the speakers on an individual basis to discuss their own research.

Assessment and permitted materials

A report (2-4 pages) has be submitted for two of the seminars within 2 weeks following the presentation.

There will be a grade. The grade will be based on 40% for each of the research proposals and 20% for participation.

For successfully passing the course, at most two meetings can be missed.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The grade will be based on 40% for each of the research proposals and 20% for participation. For a passing grade at least 50% percent must be earned.
