Aims, contents and method of the course
The course aims at MA and PhD students of all social sciences who use text (media content, parliamentary material, diaries etc.) as empirical basis for their thesis. The course provides an introduction to different forms of text analysis, pointing to their strengths and weaknesses and aims at conveying the means to implement them, including basic software skills. The course covers both quantitative and interpretive methods, focusing on the question of how to integrate them into a coherent research design
